Notes for the Week for Room 26- Students have done a wonderful job with homework so far - keep up the great work!
- We have one hour PE on Wednesday.
- All gift wrap orders should have been returned last week!
- Remember- early release all week Oct 13-17 for conferences. Students will get out at 1:45. Make sure to make pickup arrangements! Look for and return request/ confirmation slips for conferences.
- Please sign up to help with the Fall Festival. This is a fun family activity that happens only with the help of parent volunteers.
- We start going to the computer lab this week (Monday). We also will share workshop with Mrs. Halleran Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:00-2:45 and we are looking for parents to read with students during this time. This week we have Art Studio on Monday.
- This Friday we start the Symphonic Jazz Orchestra Music program.
- We need Earthquake kits NOW!
- This Friday we will have our first shopping time in class. The children love this activity. Mrs. Walden is helping, but we could always use another parent. It is from 2:45-3:15, and very intense!
- Our new math chapter is on place value. Vocbulary includes digit and place value.

Separate - Lesson Assessment: Please review this with your child before signing it. Make any corrections requested. It must be returned by Wednesday. Later in the year this will be due Tuesday.
Decodable books: come home most Thursdays and should be returned Friday.
Note: The pages cannot be in order for each day (as in first grade) because the math sheets are taken from a preprinted book.. Do not go ahead in math as it reviews the day’s lesson concept. Only do the extra pages if your child spends less than 10 minutes doing homework ..

Monday- Home Reading for a minimum of 20 Minutes
- Math 3-1
- Complete day 1 of Read for Today.
- Complete the prewrite/draft of Write for Today.
- Handwriting: trace the letters, follow the arrows, and use best handwriting. Complete “Radiant Rainbow” (this is a switch, since we will do the spelling pretest on Tuesday).
- Optional: Math enrich 3-1

- Rewrite any incorrect word on spelling test 10 times. Words were sent home last week!
Wednesday- Home Reading for a minimum of 20 Minutes

- Revise Write for Today. Remember, aim for 5 sentences with nine words.
- Spelling: complete pages 8 and 9
- Optional: Math enrich 3-3
Thursday- Home Reading for a minimum of 20 Minutes. Read decodable book 16, and return.
- Math 3-4
- Handwriting: “Time For a Nap”. Trace the letters, follow the arrows, and use best handwriting.
- Complete day 4 of Read for Today. For Write for Today, proofread and write the final copy of your story about a character you’ve been working on for homework this week. Write on the paper provided using your best handwriting; illustrate.
